Enfranchising the Youth: Voter Awareness Initiative in the Induction Programme on 8 September 2023.

During the induction program at Jabalpur Engineering College, a specialized voter awareness lecture was arranged for first-year B.Tech students representing various branches. Approximately 300 students enthusiastically participated in this enlightening workshop. The successful execution of this event was made possible through the guidance and active involvement of Principal Dr PK Jhinge.

Dr Ajay Gupta, a member of the District SVEEP (Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation) Cell, played a pivotal role in engaging the students during the lecture, offering them valuable insights into the electoral process

The workshop was meticulously coordinated by Pramod Srivastava, who presented thought-provoking questions to the students. These questions covered important topics such as the appropriate form for voter list inclusion and the submission methods. Throughout the workshop, students were educated about various voter-related forms, including Form 6 for name addition, Form 7 for name deletion, and Form 8 for name amendment. Additionally, the discussions delved into aspects related to the Election Commission, District Election Officer, BLO (Booth Level Officer), and various facets of the polling process Approximately 30 questions were posed to the students, and their active participation in offering correct answers was highly commendable. Those who responded promptly were recognized and rewarded for their knowledge and engagement.

The coordination of this workshop was skillfully handled by Dr. Kamal Kumar Kushwaha, Dr.KanchanKhare, and Dr SujeetMahobia, further enhancing its effectiveness and impact.
