Alumni 1997 Reunion: Reliving Fond Memories and Celebrating Silver Jubilees at JEC on December 23, 2023.

In 1997, Hon’ble President of India, Shri Shankar Dayal ji Sharma honoured Jabalpur Engineering College Golden Jubilee Celebrations. The Class of 1997, in their final year, played a crucial role in preparing for this special event. The Golden Jubilee Year marked a significant milestone, deepening their bond with Jabalpur Engineering as they took charge of organizing various aspects of the celebrations for the college's 50th anniversary, imprinting their legacy on the annals of their alma mater's history.

Later, on December 23, 2023, the Golden Jubilee Year batch of Jabalpur Engineering College gathered for their Silver Jubilee Reunion, expressing a deep love for their alma mater. The ceremony began with a sacred touch as a ceremonial lamp was lit by retired Prof. S.K Sant, Dr I.K Khanna, Prof. Veerendra Kumar, Director Technical Education & State Project Advisor, Madhya Pradesh, Principal Dr P.K Jhinge, and other

dignitaries, creating a cultural ambience that reflected the rich history and spirit of the institution. A brief yet reverent pause followed, observing a two-minute silence to honour departed professors and batch-mates.

In the Jashan hall of JEC, around 90 batch mates felicitated the teachers of their time, expressing heartfelt gratitude to mentors who had shaped their academic journey. Many retired teachers joyously.

participated in the Silver Jubilee celebration, expressing immense happiness at reuniting with former students Adding to the sentiment, the senior-most teacher from each department shared brief words of wisdom, reminiscing about the shared academic journey. Dr. Sant, who served as the principal in 1997 and is the senior-most teacher present, graced the event with his presence. A remarkable tribute unfolded as around 40 teachers were honoured during this significant function.

With gratitude and nostalgia, the 1997 Batch collected around 8.75 lacs, symbolizing their enduring love for their cherished alma mater. A portion of this, 5 lacs, was dedicated to procuring ceramic boards for all classrooms, replacing old blackboards and bringing a touch of modernity. The remaining funds will be used to install water coolers in each department.

Expressing profound love for their alma mater, around 15 students travelled from abroad to partake in the silver jubilee celebrations. This remarkable turnout was facilitated by advanced planning, with reunion dates set nearly an year in advance. Their presence from abroad speaks volumes about their strong bond and affection they have for their alma mater.

Dr Jhinge, the current principal, expressed heartfelt appreciation, emphasizing the profound bond between the Alumni and the institution that shaped their formative years.

Continuing a cherished tradition, the distinguished Alumni of this batch handed over the torch to the junior batch, signalling the start of their preparations for the upcoming silver jubilee reunion. After the felicitation program, they relished a delightful lunch on the college premises.

Later, with a wave of nostalgia, students revisited their respective departments and hostels, reliving fond memories from the past Extending the festivities, they spent two days at Vijan Mahal, sharing laughs and reliving memories. It resembled a painting of friendship, capturing the essence of those special moments from their college days.
