“Voters: Creators of the Future": A Street Play for Voter Awareness at JEC on 8 April 2024.

"Prioritize Voting Over All tasks." it was a call to action under the Voter Awareness Campaign as the Electoral Literacy Club of JEC took the lead in organizing a thought-provoking street play titled “Voters: Creators of the Future"on the afternoon of April 8, 2024. The principal, Dr P.K Jhinge, witnessed the entire street play, and his presence served as a source of inspiration for the students. His presence, along with the faculty, inspired the students to perform better.

The objective behind this initiative was straightforward: to educate and actively involve voters in recognizing the significant role they play in shaping the future through their democratic rights. The play also emphasized the significance of every vote, stressing how even a single vote can make a significant difference. It urged people not to succumb to the temptation of bribery and vote for the wrong person. Instead, it highlighted the importance of voting thoughtfully and responsibly, ensuring that the right person is elected for the job. The theme, “Voters: Creators of the Future"was carefully chosen to resonate with the audience and drive home the importance of their participation in the electoral process.

With thorough planning and close attention to detail, the street play was an energetic display of storytelling and performance. Each dialogue was a powerful message, emphasizing the significance of voting forexample :“Loktantramajbootbanakar,/bharat ka utthankarein/Lobhlalach ki tooddeeware/Aao hum matdankarein”

The collaborative efforts of faculty and the principal demonstrate how linking classroom learning with real-life situations is vital for engineering students. This educational visit echoed Swami Vivekananda's vision for empowering the youth to shape a brighter future.

Special recognition is owed to Dr. Kamal Kumar Kushwaha, the District Electoral Officer, Dr Durgesh Nandini Nagvanshi and Professor PradeeptiLakra, the dedicated Electoral Coordinators of the college, whose expertise and dedication were instrumental in bringing the event to life. Their tireless efforts ensured that the message of the street play reached far and wide, spreading awareness and igniting a sense of responsibility among participants about the crucial role of voting in shaping the destiny of the nation. After the street play, Dr.Jhingeand Dr Kamal Kumar Kushwaha uplifted the students with their inspiring words, encouraging them to give their best at the theatrical performance scheduled to be staged at the District Administration's Book Fair as part of the Voter Awareness Program on April 12, 2024.
