JEC Virtually Joins Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav in Celebrating International Day of Women in Science and Inaugurating AI & IoT Center of Excellence at JEC on February 12,2024.

The Principal Dr P.K Jhinge, faculty, and students of JEC actively participated in the observance of theInternational Day of Womens Participation in Science/ महिलाओं की विज्ञान में सहभागिता के अंतरराष्ट्रीय दिवस on February 12, 2024.They were part of the virtual event hosted at the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre, Bhopal, accessing it from the Jashan Auditorium within the college through online channels. The entire program was virtually experienced through a live telecast, allowing for remote engagement in the celebration. Notably, students from Mahila Polytechnic, Bhopal, presented a handmade angavastram to the Chief Minister, adorned with a drawing of the Ram temple. The Skill Development Department welcomed Chief Minister Dr Yadav with a sizable image of Lord Shri Ram. Dr.Jhinge's main goal in urging students to participate virtually in this event was to ensure they listened to our Hon’ble Chief Minister Mohan Yadav's address and become aware of government policies and initiatives aimed at improving job opportunities for them. The success of this purpose can be measured by the students' key takeaways from the address. They learned about the crucial role of women in science, the cultural respect for women, and the democratic values represented byPresident Smt. Draupadi Murmu holding the highest office. The recognition of positive changes brought about by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiatives and the commitment to providing world-class training reflects a broader understanding of government efforts to foster a future where students including women, can actively contribute to advancements in science and technology.

Moreover, Dr. Yadav's mention of UNESCO's collaboration in observing the International Day of Women and Girls in Science emphasized the global recognition of this cause. This aimed to inspire students to see the broader impact and significance of their involvement in scientific endeavours. Honouring individuals from 12 tribal districts, ITIs, Polytechnics, and Engineering colleges served to recognize and appreciate diverse contributions, creating a feeling of belonging and togetherness among the students.

When Dr Yadav digitally inaugurated various courses and training sessions in different institutions of the state in a single click, the students gained awareness of the diverse educational opportunities available. These included Industrial safety training in government.

ITIs through the Indo-German Initiative for Technical Education (IGnITE), AI and IoT courses at Jabalpur Engineering College, Blockchain Builder Technology at Ujjain Engineering College, and Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality courses at SV Polytechnic Bhopal. Furthermore, the launch of the PESA course at Mahila Polytechnic College, Bhopal, in collaboration with IIT Indore, added to the range of courses introduced, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the educational landscape. The female students were inspired when the Chief Minister honoured women skilled in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) fields. The motivation heightened as he presented offer letters to female candidates, who were selected for job fairs. This recognition and support likely served as encouragement for the girls to pursue and excel in STEM fields.

Overall, Dr Jhinge's encouragement succeeded in enlightening the students about the government's commitment to their education, job prospects, and the broader societal progress they can actively contribute.

After the Chief Minister's official virtual and digital inauguration of the Centre of Excellence at JEC, a notable chapter unfolded as Principal Dr.Jhinge took the reins in a physical ceremony to inaugurate theseCentres of Excellence symbolized by the cutting of ribbons. These centres, situated in the Information and Technology Department and the College's.

Computer Science Department, are overseen by Prof. Loveleen Kaur Pabla, Head of Information Technology Department, and Dr. Jitendra Thakur, Head of Computer Science & Engineering Department.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place in both departments, led by the principal, who was joined by Dr Shailja Shukla, Head of the Electrical Engineering Department, Dr Anubha Maheshwari, Head of Applied Chemistry; and Dr Bhavna Jhariya, Head of the Electronics and Telecommunication Department. The event was also attended by other college faculty members, adding to the significance of the inauguration ceremony. The successful execution of both virtual and physical inaugurations reflects Dr Jhinge’s deep commitment to the institution's growth and the fulfilment of educational objectives in line with government policies.
