Sankalp Scheme: Student Participation and Practical Learning in Engineering Education- 8th to 12th September 2023.

As part of the Sankalp scheme, students from Government Engineering Colleges, including JEC, went on a trip to UIT RGPV Shivpuri's Power Engineering & Renewable Energy Lab from 8th to 12th September 2023. This initiative granted students from diverse Government Engineering Colleges the opportunity to visit Center of Excellence Labs. This Sankalp initiative by the Ministry of Skill Development, backed by a World Bank loan, focuses on short-term skill training to build a skilled workforce.

The visit facilitated hands-on experience with advanced simulators, encompassing Smart Grids and Wind Power Generation, Photo Voltaic Cells, Hydrogen Fuel Cells, Double Bus Bar Protection, Feeder Management, CT, PT, Grid Synchronization, and PV Emulation. Dr Preeti Jain delivered two valuable lectures during this visit. The first focused on Smart Grid Monitoring & Integration of Renewable Energy Resources" while the second provided an overview of "Power System Scenario, shedding light on various aspects of power systems.

Student involvement in this initiative offers them practical experience and exposure to real-world engineering applications. Principal Dr P.K. Jhinge's support for student participation shows the college's commitment to practical knowledge and skill development. The students visited this advanced lab under the guidance of Dr. Preeti Jain, Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering.
