JEC Celebrated National Youth Day : Reviving Heritage with Traditional Indian Games and Yoga during 12 & 13 January 2024.
Jabalpur Engineering College made a positive contribution to National Youth Day/Yuva Divas and Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary on January 12th& 13thJanuary 2024.
Aligning with government directives, the college organized both a yoga session and sports events, aiming to share India's cultural and spiritual heritage globally.
Led by Prof. Sunil Singh and Prof. D.S. Rawat, the yoga sessions covered a variety of techniques, including warm-up exercises and Surya Namaskar, promoting physical
well-being and enhancing students understanding of yoga.
On the sports front, Principal,Dr. P.K. Jhinge inaugurated the events, bringing inspiration to the field. His presence encouraged active students participation,
adding to the energetic atmosphere. Traditional Indian games like pitook, skipping, marbles (kanchay), kho-kho, kabaddi etc were played, adding a fun and nostalgic touch.
Over time, some of these games may have faded into obscurity. However, the government's promotion and active
participation in these games contribute to their revival, ensuring that they are not lost to future generations.Prof.
D.C. Rahi and Dr. Bhavna Singh actively contributed
in organizing the sports activities.
The events not only contributed to the physical and mental well-being of the students but also aligned with the broader cultural and health goals of the students.
The diverse range of activities fostered a sense of friendship and enjoyment among the students, making the event a memorable and enriching experience.
Beyond physical and mental well-being, the events also embodied the spirit of Swami Vivekananda's thoughts on sports and yoga.
